Beware the forest, my child, for it is a dark and forbidding place, full of foul things the likes of which you can not imagine.
It is said that within these woods there once lived a tribe of maidens, fair and wise. But these maidens posessed not the virtue of good women, and so they fell to depravity and the worship of dark gods. They performed fiendish rituals and most blasphemous of all, they snuggled with the wild beasts. The dark gods saw this and laughed with twisted pleasure. They cursed these women, their own followers, changing them that they be part woman, part beast. Adding to their curse, one of the less-experienced dark gods named Kazuvoth added "Hey guys, can they be preggy too? Please please please?" To this request, the other dark gods consented.
And so they are, dark dwellers of the deep forest, cloven-hooved and swollen-bellied. They are driven by a dark desire to snuggle, to cuddle, to love. They will not stop until the whole world is content and snuggly. When the night is clear and the moon lays full in the sky they come, charging into our villages, hugging everyone in their path. They say they leave none unsnuggled. Of course, they also come on moonless nights... the afternoon... teatime... when invited... whenever they really feel like it, but that's not the point.
The point is they should be feared because... because um... Well ok, I guess they shouldn't be feared. Probably you should just snuggle and cuddle them back and rub their bellies. Maybe you could offer them some food or something if you have some to spare.
But beware the fate that befalls those dragged back to their camp! Those poor souls are... also snuggled actually. That's pretty much it. They're a really friendly people.
...But their clothes are made of the children of the villages they raid! ...Well, really I mean a lot of their clothes are made BY the children of the villages they raid. I guess that statement is a little less misleading. Usually the children donate tunics and scraps of cloth to the kind, gentle preggor as a way of thanking them for the nice raid.
Well... I guess that ruins my story of woe and terror. Oh well.
